DELP, Lora "Bud"

  Lora Edgar “Bud” Delp of Marshall, age 82, died Thursday morning, April 8, in Vermillion County Hospital at Clinton. He was born in Fountain County, August 29, 1899, the son of Daniel E. and Nancy Belle Crowder Delp. He married Edith E. Flaurr, who died in 1943. In 1954, he married Mary Riley Van Cleave, who died in 1977. A retired farmer, he had been a night patrolman at Turkey Run State Park and a non-denominational preacher. Delp was an Army veteran of World War I.

  Surviving are four daughters, Irena Kincade of Lafayette, Lola Norman of Marshall, Norman Sullivan of Knightstown and Wilma Adams of Kokomo; two sons, Marion of Fort Myers, Florida; and Earl of Covina, California; a stepson, Ray VanCleave of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters, Leona Nelson and Lola Broady, both of Rockville; an aunt, Mary Crowder of Bloomingdale; 25 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Tudor-Miller Memorial Chapel in Rockville with Rev. John Kessinger officiating. Burial was in Cashatt Cemetery north of Turkey Run. – thanks to S
